What to do when You Get a Bad Grade »

Getting a poor grade on an exam or other assignment can be disheartening. If you let it get you down, it can ruin the rest of your semester. Don’t let a bad grade ruin your confidence! You can persevere, but it takes determination.

Follow these tips to help you bounce back after a bad grade.

Identify Mistakes- It doesn’t matter if you’re trying to receive an online nursing degree or a masters degree in business management, the only way you’ll be successful is by learning from your mistakes. After receiving a poor test score, identify the mistakes you made. Take the time to correct them, and you’ll be on your way to being back on the right path.

Remember Big Picture- Throughout your college career, you’ll receive hundreds of grades. Don’t let a single bad grade ruin your entire schooling experience. You need to focus on the big picture. You’re there to receive an online college degree. One grade is fairly insignificant. Just keep heading toward your final goal, and you’ll be fine.

Stay Positive- A positive attitude really can do wonders for your academic performance. The biggest mistake students make after receiving a poor grade is losing hope. Don’t give up! Stay positive, and you’ll be able to work your way through this challenging time.

Finding Baseball Training Online »

I love that the Internet allows me to find out so many interesting things from the comfort of my own home.  Sure, in the “olden days“, you could call around on the telephone, but that took a long time - now with the Internet, it is much quicker.

So, I was on the computer today looking for some Tampa softball lessons.  I thought that it might be a good idea after I found out that I was the only person at a staff barbeque that didn’t know how to play baseball - it was very embarrassing.

Looking online, I realized that there were many places that were claiming that you could learn baseball.  For example, I was able to find some baseball cages Clearwater FL that offered lessons, but I wanted to learn the whole game - not just how to swing a bat.

I continued the search and was hoping to find some sort of course, or some kind of instruction that I could take that would educate me about the entire game of golf.  I am sad to admit it, but I don’t even understand how the game works at all beyond hitting the ball.

There was a Clearwater baseball camp that I signed myself up for and hopefully I will finally learn how to play baseball there - I don’t want to be embarrassed about not knowing how to play again.

A Career in Elder Care »

The statistics tell us that it’s because the Baby Boomers — one of the biggest generations — are aging and are therefore starting to need care.  For whatever reason, though, elder care is a huge industry — and growing.

Whether or not you are already in the nursing industry, you might consider pursuing a career as an in home caregiver.  Once you have completed your home care training, you can earn a pretty decent living.

Some of the advantages to working in the industry include:

  • More flexible hours.  Depending on the company you work for, you may be able to choose your hours more freely than you would working in a hospital, nusing home, or doctor’s office.
  • Relative comfort.  Instead of working in a hospital or a nursing home, you provide care for someone in their own home, which is generally a more comfortable environment (for you as well as for your client!).
  • Less pressure and/or stress.  When you are working in a private home, you have one client to care for — not dozens or more, as you would in a hospital or a nursing home.  The result is that you are more relaxed and can give more focused attention to your client.

Home care provider training will teach you the specifics of the work.  For instance, you’ll learn about fall prevention home care so that you can keep your clients safe.  You’ll also learn about the proper nutrition for the elderly, so that you can ensure your clients’ diets are healthful and give them the nutrients they need.

Interior Design Isn’t Just About Rearranging Furniture »

The majority of people who look at attending interior design degree programs such as those offered by Harrington interior design school know more or less what they are getting in to when they pursue an education and career in interior design. However there is always a small percentage of students that start out each semester thinking that they are entering into an easy degree program that basically just involves rearranging furniture. They quickly learn that there is a whole lot more to the art of interior design than just choosing the right furniture for a room and making it look good in the space that is provided.

Interior design is about assessing both the personality of a home’s residents and the functional needs that they have for the home. It is about trying to figure out how to design a room that is going to meet all of those needs without compromising the mood and style that suits the family best. This isn’t just about selecting and arranging furniture. It is about looking at the windows and lighting, the walls and the way that the walls meet … it’s about checking out each detail and then looking at the big picture with the overarching goal being to create a space that is beautiful to the person or people who will be living there. It’s an art, not just a job.
